Hold On

Contributed by Beyfoxman5 on Monday, 12th January 2015 @ 05:26:58 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

It has been said that life goes by like running water,
And I have found this much is true
You see people you know one moment
You blink your eyes, it is those people you once knew

The surface flies as fast as lightning
And beneath this surface swim fish
We peak, peer, and gaze frantically
Because there is nothing that we want to miss

So why not find a fish
And grab on to one of his fins?
Picture the best, without seeing clearly the future
All you can do is begin

When life has you neck deep in alligators
Your brain upstairs is mobbed
And you have no idea how to make your life
Hold on, that's your job

I love this poem! There is so much wisdom in this write. I can relate so much! Never ever give up! And enjoy the moment, I get it and love this.

This makes me think of all us, and even in some senses some of us. Passing through at confounding speeds, missing out on all too much, while trying to miss nothing, yet missing everything. The alligators and mobbed brain line I don't really get, unless it's along the lines of it being scary, and our brains being bombarded with "what ifs" and "what will bes".
A good write nonetheless. :)

Absolutely spot on.
Take time to smell the roses.
To me as I get older time is like a runaway train.
Great read as usual!
