Cleaning the ashes

Contributed by lostrelic on Tuesday, 6th January 2015 @ 12:43:38 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Within the fire the memories burn
stars of flames blanket the sky
making wishes on fallen tinder
ashes welcoming a new.

The fog is thick as the animals play within the field
the dog lays barking on the porch
held down by a broken leg given on a cold Christmas night
howling the blues for anyone to hear
sadness in his eyes wishing to run with those fowl beasts.

Me looking out the window wondering of new paths
cleaning my fire place of burnt up memories of you
if only the mind can do the same.
Strength within brought by the love shown
Spirit still howling at the moon
however this old dog has nowhere to roam
left now to have my day.

Like the fog this thought of you will fade away
and the sun will come shining through.
I might just take the place of the poor dog on the porch
and go run and play
chasing my poor dog blues away for another day.

Peace and love to you my friends
till our paths meet in time
let us all find the sun through the fog
and make it a better day.

I like the way the direction changed right at the end and into the last stanza. Lot of visuals in this.

Me likes.

Thanks,

Tim

I get it. I'm living it today.
Living in farm country I can see your visions well.
Well done!
