the moon hovers over the mountains
the sky opens its eyes to wake the earth with an emblazon of brilliant light
crows call from the blue like sirens
wishing to arouse the breathing dead
the fog creeps over to kiss the last of the willow leaves before departure
the runner grieves his last mile as cars pile up on the highway
in the morning, I surrender all thoughts of you as the pulse strikes and casts us in different directions.

I feel like you captured the heartbeat of the world in less than 10 lines. Hard to do. Great Work.
