Military blues

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Years have gone by and there are more to come
No one has touched me more....so sure that your the one

Wait.....there is a voice deep in my head
Filling my thoughts, leaving me lie in bed

Tossing and turning from one thought to another
This choice.....that choice, it's taking me under

Oh, your serious you want to marry me?
Come on now, your just lonely

I'm a recognizable voice over the telephone
If you saw me today you'd probably groan

This all sounds way to good to be true
I'm a realist, a survivor, but not with my head in the blue

I've always thought that I knew what was best for me
I have been wrong twice, I don't know if I should go for three

Because my thought process is so long and hard
A lonely old maid is hopefully not in my cards

There is a flip side to all this madness, I swear
Bad thought are not all I have to bear

There's a fuzzy side like a sun-rippened peach
Sweet, from the heart, a day at the beach

You and I make so much sense
I think it's not just a coincidence

You make me laugh, smile with glee
Wanting to be with you eventually

I wish to see what truths may lie ahead
But a psychic I am not that's why I lie here in bed

Nice crisp poem paints a clear picture of many a youg womans dilema

A couple of my poems "Love Boat" and "He's not the only one" might interest you. Although you seem to have a wise head on your young shoulders

Try to bear in mind love can disappear as quickly as it arrives (particularly in men) what you are looking for is strength of character
will he keep ie promises (vows if you marry)
what sort of a father will he make, can he keep a job, is he trustworthy etc etc

No he doesn't have to be a miracle..... plenty do.

I really enjoyed reading this one. I really connect to issues of the heart. I appreciate how hard it is to know what's right sometimes.
