Distrust

Contributed by Davinah on Tuesday, 23rd December 2014 @ 06:52:05 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

So insecure and so unsure.
Refusing to believe what my eyes perceive.
Persisting to nourish the growing doubt,
until the truth finally gets out

Is this complete downfall all over again?
Could life be so cruel to let it be repeated?
I twist and turn and wait to learn,
if once more I will be defeated.

Just a little too perfect to be true.
So seemingly innocent.
So blindingly pure.
But I cannot ever be sure.

What true intentions have you got?
If you've got any at all to share.
What true colours are hidden underneath
this mask I'm convinced that you wear.

According to me, in my distorted view,
for all I know; you are not really you.
I cannot shake the suspicion that accompanies me,
in all I witness, in all that I see.

So I walk beside you with one eye locked onto your soul.
And yet; your true you I will never ever know.

Excellent write, I love this, it is as though you see into my soul as well, kind of unnerving for me. It took me there and I felt it. Hauntingly beautiful

I've had to deal with women like this. Its kind of annoying to keep having to do it.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
