Honoring You My Brother

Contributed by waynster on Friday, 19th December 2014 @ 07:14:43 PM in AEST
Topic: dedicatedpoems

.
.
Here I kneel
before a lost brother, I have sorrow
Knowing I live yet another day
he will not get to see tomorrow
>
Brothers in arms
we shared the fight
We served our country
we did what we believed to be right
>
I am a man
but this day I shed tears as I kneel
My brother, memories of you
from me, nobody can steal
>
A true patriot
of the American Red, White, and Blue
You are no longer with us
but my memories are always with you
>
Your honor and your duty
the sacrifices you've made
I honor you now
for the high price that you have paid
>
The sound of 21 shots today
echoed through the valley so loud
I kneel here before you my brother
to honor a soldier who fought proud
>
To you my brother, I render a salute
your service for our country is done
I will carry on your honor
and your memory with each and every fading sun
.
