Man of Steel, Heart of Gold

Contributed by Beyfoxman5 on Friday, 19th December 2014 @ 04:27:40 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

He has muscles on his muscles, like he has been stung by bees
And his shadow, even that Is a sight to see
He keeps track of what he eats like a clock tracks time
For goodness sakes, even his toe muscles are defined

He is one part carbs and eight parts protein
All other foods, consider them his enemy
When life wears him out and gets him frustrated
He goes to the gym and gets himself calibrated

He is yoked like and egg, total shredded wheat
I will bet you his DNA has more protein than meat
As some of us sag and age all of the sudden
He looks better and better, a regular Ben Button

In his blood is structure, minute to minute discipline
But he turns to complete mush when he sees children
To them he is magnetic, a pure lightening rod
And to me he is my brother, and for that I thank God

He is a man of steel, with a heart of Gold

He sounds like a really awesome older brother. Excellent poem, and I love the title and how it also became the closing line.

Well done.

Fox, this poem is awesome all the way around! Excellent write my poetic friend! Wow, I really enjoyed reading it! Keep up the great writing! I just posted one about fellow Veterans! Ironically, the name is Honoring You My Brother, but meaning brothers in arms.

you got me thinking of a couple of my older brothers here.
I wish I could say your poem is like butter,
Because it is
really phat if you will
every birthday he's the one who calls
he walks into a room and picks them up
And they giggle
He's the one they can't wait to see
The one who means it when he says
don't sweat the small things in life

I am lucky to have one who was a god in basketball and football, and got married age sixteen
worked his butt off and didn't belly up to all the pressure

Never said a word about all he went through
He just turned 57
An athlete who told me once
Your only as good as the competition

Beyfoxman5 this is a perfect poem.

Your brother sounds like one heck of a human being!
You are truly lucky to have him!

Peace!

The content is great. Sounds like I need this dude as personal trainer!

There are two exceptional lines in this (imho I mean)

"He keeps track of what he eats like a clock tracks time"

"He has muscles on his muscles, like he has been stung by bees"

Best,

Invierno
