Defining Moment

Contributed by bigj on Friday, 19th December 2014 @ 08:05:07 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

A defining moment
creates this irreversible change
Realization settles in
Your Old Life Out Of Range

Lived life without walls
Completely open to attack
Simply living and not surviving
But all these battles begin to stack

And surviving becomes living
Becoming evasive and defensive
Sheltered behind walls
Constantly mending to the fences

No longer the urge of love
No need of another
This dependency was my weakness
The truth revealed and uncovered

The love I have left
Belongs to my family and friends
Unable to spare anything more
Praying I never fall in love again

Strong poem here. I hope the last line loses value for you in time. I get what you're saying. third marriage.

A heart closed to love is not beating on eight cylinders.

Yes those defining moments, good or bad do change our course,or sometimes knock us off for a time.
Love will find its way, though at times we wish it away.

Hugs
Michelle
