A Christmas Vision

Contributed by waynster on Thursday, 18th December 2014 @ 02:46:43 AM in AEST
Topic: Holiday Poetry

Imagine the snow falling
it’s a night of the year like no other
Looking through a fogged up window
it’s beautiful outside, are the words you utter

In the background
crackling sounds heard, as the fireplace glows
All warm and snugly in your home
while outside it snows

Friends and family on their way over
cocktails and eggnog will bring you cheer
Sitting around the fireplace together
playing classic Christmas songs to your hearts so dear

Occasionally tending to the fire
that keeps you warm on this night
Occasionally looking out the window to see the snow
traitorous for driving, but what a beautiful sight

Exchanging presents with each other
bringing smiles to everyone’s face
Such a comfortable feeling
being with everyone here in this cozy place

Christmas Eve is wonderful
when you’re around people for whom you care
It is a magical night
where everyone has love and happiness to share

So let your Christmas be wonderful
by being warm and friendly to everyone you know
Take a walk together
singing Christmas carols in the falling snow

This is really beautiful. I shall have to post my song "It's Christmas Time" one of these days
I want to save some poems for the book I may be publishing in the next couple of years.

My mom was born on Christmas Day, so it's a special day for me. Reading this poem made me think of all the holiday dinners we had as children & it gives me a warm feeling inside.

This was absolutely beautiful!
