Do you know how to treat me right?
Do you know what I think about at night?
Do you know what goes on in my life?
Do you know how to hold me tight?
How to make things feel right?
Do you know how to make things right?
Do you know what I want out of life?
Do you know what I'm looking for?
Do you know about my hurts and pains?
How to make me feel safe?
I don't need the hurt any more,
I need someone to love and hold,
I don't need to play childish games,
I need to know where I am going in life.
I need someone to be strong,
I need someone to love,
Someone to venture through life with,
I've been to hell and back,
I truely no longer need any of that.
Show me that there is,
A man out there that can be,
A gentleman and a saint,
Or I guess I'll have to show him the gate.
I just want someone to love to hold and to understand,
I don't want anyone that cheats,
Nor anyone that sleeps around,
Someone faithful and someone sweet.
Times getting on,
Lifes moving on,
No time for time wasters,
Just want a man that knows his own heart,
Knows what he wants,
Doesn't throw darts at my heart.
I hope one day some day,
You'll know how to act,
We'll find life so sweet,
Beyond our street,
And you'll be the man,
Your meant to be towards me.
