To slip away another Day

Contributed by lostrelic on Monday, 15th December 2014 @ 09:10:44 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Within all poets is the ability to express pain
to harvest the unease in ones soul
expression a gift in sonnet
or a drunken ramble with fire in each stroke.
Scorn tears and wonder
words of sorrow flow

We speak of Babylon like we don't live it
giving credit to this illusion
a blessing for the royal heads
all weeballing and wobbling
dust as layers on plates
Keeping them still

I had a dream the other day
that it was all just a game in a galatic arcade
Sims if you will.
Watching life flush away one quarter at a time
a penny for a rhyme
no ones got a dime.
The waiting for the next game never came

Right now I feel pain
alone with the night.
Having no need to howl
lost the need to fight.

I lost my eve and that is done
not one tear has dropped
and I am scared
to fall the fool
I already feel the drop.

She was my everything but that is fine
life is always unexpected.
I sit within these cabin walls blessing the misery
for the ability to feel is the greatest gift
to fight the negative within the darkness of ones mind
to walk out strong again.
To love another day.

All this I feed myself
a better outlook to swallow.
To lie to ones self is easy to amuse
to lie to you is much more sinister.
Yes I'll get by one always does
facebook doesn't help.
I might need to set one free to again howl at the moon
to wash the smell of you
as I know you are reading this now
I am done with you.

Love always flows like a quarter of wine
spilled stains a lesson learned.
Within each grape is a taste of new life
each new bottle an adventure

Passionate, so well written, and so true. I can relate, and a pleasure to read.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
