Same Time Next Week

Lifepoems

Caught up in a firefight,
drama of their former life.
Here she comes broom in hand,
grow a pair, take a stand.
Spitting, hissing, screeching blight,
hackles up prepared to smite.
Bubonic bullets light the fuse,
children staring quite confused.
Closet dwellers spilling out,
nothing's sacred hear the shout;
Of dirty deeds and love forsaken,
innocence has now been taken.
Damage done cannot rewind,
children crying, so purblind.
Nothing gained still not defeated,
'cause next week they'll just repeat it.

I unfortunately relate all too well to this. Glad those days for me are over...for years now.
You conveyed that meaning very well in this. Great job!
Thanks,
Tim |
