Syntax is not intelligence, unlettered is not stupid

Contributed by Beyfoxman5 on Saturday, 29th November 2014 @ 03:14:01 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Do we use a comma after and or not?
Written in one or two words...a lot?
Is it e before i, or i before e?
And in which sense am I using the verb to be?

Is the apostrophe used for possession in a contraction?
Ah yes, it is verb, not the adjective, that indicates the action
And that nagging their and there
That have contributed so greatly to my rapidly receiting hair

So many of these things to me won't ever make sense
So I keep in my heart that syntax does not equal intelligence
And of all these things never really mattered
Because stupid does not mean unlettered

Okay so spread the news
Right here I have no idea which preposition to use
I understand that we write of a person who, not a person that
And that transitions are not necessarily my hat

For the one millionth time, omnipowerful does it all
To puny word it stands tall
Look, omnipresent is everywhere
For goodness sake, I want to keep my hair.

So many of these things to me won't ever make sense
So I keep in my heart that syntax does not equal intelligence
And of all these things never really mattered
Because stupid does not mean unlettered

Transformational Generative Grammar
or TGG
A grammar contains a syntactic, semantic and a phonological component ... Aspects of the Theory of Syntax by Noam Chomsky...

Lexicon is a catalog of words in a language, and grammar is a system of rules which allow the combination of those words create meaningful sentences

There are many languages and thus it would not be possible to have a universal syntax, or structure of sentences

general terms or links of grammarian rule not withstanding I think
would be omni enough for me

I have no idea what I mean by what I just
wrote, I only wish I did/ now my brain is freezing up

But it was fun reading what you laid down all the same!
Thank you I say from way down anywhere!

Peace!
