Third Planet from The Sun

Contributed by UNKNOWN_UTOPIA on Sunday, 23rd November 2014 @ 11:14:42 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Yesterday
The earthlings came
my equilibrium was shattered
as their emotional torture reigned,
they slipped through the cracks
of my humanity
convinced me to let them in
deceiving me with their false need,
I thought It would matter
if I absorbed some of their pain
but now
I stand here torn and tattered
as I have been fooled once again.

I tried to ignore them
when they approached me
with their broken souls
but I
couldn't walk away
I had to try to help them
their pain was just to hard to ignore,
I was well deceived
I was taken in
by the tales they weaved
after they took what they needed
they were gone
they were no where to be seen.

sobering
Emotions rain
on an empty billboard
deep in my mind....
all the cracks have been mended
once more I will ignore the earthlings plight.
Thoughts of self pity
now
circulates with disdain,
what was my thought process
why the hell
did I try to be human once again.

Wow, I feel this in every way. This actually makes me think of family or something coming over to visit. Not 'positive' family members, mind you, but the malignant, estranged ones who drag us down. Anyway the emotion is deep, friend. Sometimes we have to numb or otherwise harden ourselves around certain people, but that does not make you less than human.
A protective shell is sometimes required, but don't be afraid to let your true self shine for the right people.

Great write.

omg this is what i'm going through too, i feel you were speaking
directly to me, humans are a huge let down in everyday life, ~aside
from my children, i prefer animals and all the poets here, i've had
two recent encounters that almost did me in- they have left me afraid
and still shaking, i totally love the way you wrote this, it is sooo beautifully
penned! it captures exactly the the hurt and hope that is the letdown after
the humans who have wrecked their havock upon one's life turn and walk away...

hugs n' love nessa
