My mask crumbles
As others don beauties
This one I cling to
Dreading the day
My illusions crumble
She puts me together
Under the mask
Completing works of art
But my mask still crumbles
she puts my mask on
Polishing, finishing
I yearn to escape
Though there’s
Nowhere to go
Ghosts still haunt me
Did it ever feel good?
Was I ever happy?

I hope you see this comment, buddy. You are doing the 'write' thing by exploring your emotions this way.
I did drugs and drank for 30 years until I found my release through poetry. I still drink and do a few other things, but not destructively as before.
Be cool...keep writing.
