I Cried

Contributed by ginsdance on Monday, 5th August 2002 @ 07:36:47 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I starting crying yesterday
As the angel's teardrops fell as rain,
Eroding the filth from everything,
From my soul, to earthly things.
I cried for what I cannot possess,
The horrors and terrors locked in my chest,
I cried for the temptations that I have befallen,
And what the devil is calling
For me to do,
I cried for love yesterday, what about you?

I cried until my soul began to break,
Until the light outside was gone and late,
I cried until the stars appeared
As the hours quickly turned to years.
I cried for what I cannot feel,
For the long, hard road I till,
I cried for what my mind is yearing,
For what my soul is softly turning
Towards, and still I softly cry,
I may cry for my whole life.

I cried yesterday
In that soft, heartbreaking way,
I cried for the horrors that I see,
And for the fear left inside of me.
I cried for friends long dead and gone,
I cried the whole night long,
And as I cried I softly prayed
to let the memories fade
From my mind...
I cried yesterday because I am alive.

Who would bring us wonderful poetry like this if you weren't alive? ;)
