Come on in, Sunlight...
why don't you grab a chair;
be an angle, shadow,
just move on over there.
Focus all your beams
on tiny little me,
a cosmic speck
you'll hard detect-
Tell me what you see.
Now my face is in your light,
are there sparkles in my eyes?
Gold flecks like in the movies?
Or am I simply me.
When moon beam comes
(“You're off, you see”)
I bid the same chair sit;
in softest gauze of lunar gaze
not like you, unflinching raw,
I find I prefer moony's softer ways.

A simple setting yet so complex. Perhaps we all feel like this at times, looking to the sun for hope, yet it is in the more subtle, peaceful, moments that we get to spend time with the moon that we discover such within ourselves. Great writing,

As a cancer ruled by the moon I totally agree with the ending here. I too prefer the night and shadows |
