The Best Me

Contributed by kmec1990 on Thursday, 13th November 2014 @ 03:07:33 PM in AEST
Topic: schoolproblems

Disabled they say how can that be,
in the mirror I look the same as thee.
I can learn but it's different not quite how they want,
no it doesn't matter if I sit right up front.

My attention it wanders out into the hall,
I find difficult to focus, there's a fly on the wall.
Every noise seems the same it's very impacting,
I know you just find this very distracting.

Level playing field you preach then refuse me technology,
how can I spell if the letters don't appear logically.
Hours of homework I struggle to finish on time,
outside my window stands a tree I'd much rather climb.

I try really hard to get it all right,
but sometimes it seems not quite worth the fight.
Every night I pray for my teacher to see,
I'm as smart as the other kids in grade three.

This may be a poem written from the perspective of another....but either way, you have found your niche. This is beautifully well written, and it speaks to tons of people...including me!

There are many ways to arrive at your destination. So if you want to, forge the river. Be well.

You have many challenges here…and also the opportunity to make a singular path; a road of your own to your selfhood. Forge it for those who will follow. How can you possibly fail when you are going where no one has yet gone?
Be the beginning. You have the heart for it!
