I fell for love:
and in my falling
felt nothing pulling me
back from the brink;
nothing calling me from above
with all the rewards for
a heart split with love.
all I knew was the abyss,
and that something was remiss—
for this was a declaration of love!
but there were no ears to listen,
no eyes to glisten with the
passion’s moment shared.
and in that realisation,
no chance of being spared,
sacrificed, on the hard edge of love.
