Extraordinary, but no one there to see

Extraordinary, But No One There To See

A letter to A student at Rice,
Her response to me, "so nice'"
Oh, a reaction so shallow
Got me feeling so hollow

This thing I can't believe
But I'll always have my dreams

Extraordinary but no one there to see (x2)
I leap tall buildings in a single bound
Fill stadiums, arenas without a sound
Extraordinary but no one there to see
I grab the stars
Right through the clouds
I grab the stars
Feet firm on the ground
Extraordinary but no one there to see

Hand on my forehead
Grandma puts me to bed
You had a great day
Two bases, one play
Or just an utter lack of speed

Diggin' a bit deeper
Little scorekeeper
An instance I dread
Ball off my head
So different than my dreams

Extraordinary but no one there to see (x2)
I leap tall buildings in a single bound
Fill stadiums, arenas without a sound
Extraordinary but no one there to see
I grab the stars
Right through the clouds
I grab the stars
Feet firm on the ground
Extraordinary but no one there to see

A working colleague
One day she called me
Hey guys, come over and hang out
And I couldn't believe
I had been deceived
Slept with my best friend

Woke up the next mornin'
It was rainin', pourin'
That day I lament
So back to sleep I went

And watched the man I truly am

Extraordinary but no one there to see (x2)
I leap tall buildings in a single bound
Fill stadiums, arenas without a sound
Extraordinary but no one there to see
I grab the stars
Right through the clouds
I grab the stars
Feet firm on the ground
Extraordinary but no one there to see

Well, I am already intrigued...Wonderful job laying out your words. Greatness seems so much more attainable in our slumber...I agree. I like the repeating lines to drive home the restless state of your current mind frame.

Welcome to ypdc.

Extra ordinary
But no one no one
might see

stadiums are
star galaxy

high up lightening
happenstances

hear the crowds
See all the exciting things
people gather together to see

All the practicing in the dreaming
and then under the lights at night

And the sounds
echoing

and the clink or the wood
hitting

and the movement
and the glove or the ball
and the dream

one is animated just enough
to live for above all

some might call it
love

I do.

I don't know what you mean, but I like it
It's good writing, no matter what I think anyhow.
What you think is more important probably
because you did leap

Peace!
