What a dreadful night that was,
Seeing him dying in the cradle of my arms.
My struggle to save his last breath,
Then seeing my tears falling on the wreath.
Everything had happened so quickly,
That there was a feeling of unreality.
On my grieve, I wanted to tear out my own heart,
The whole world had seemed to come apart.
For a very long time, birds didn’t sing merrily,
I was striving to cope with the painful reality.
All I used to hear was crows and ravens,
Dream my lost love up to Heaven.
His memories still surround me all the time,
My life doesn’t seem to be all mine.
Cherishing the illusion, with him, I live in Utopia,
All these things fill me with nostalgia.
Standing on the brink of collapse,
I hear a little but mighty voice in my head,
“There is a time for grieving, and a time for living,
Each of them, in its own time, will be coming”.
So now I will try to put my life in rhyme,
To catch up with the coming happy time.
Where the music will be melodically jive,
And I will again feel so alive.

to comment on such a moment would be to intrude in private grief.
But you have a clear view to your next horizon. Nobody has more than that. Some won't even look that far.
A very well written and particularly touching poem. |

I guess life, somehow or other, makes you prudent and gives you strength to view each day and take things in your life sometimes as lovely as they come and sometimes as worse as they come. Depends on the person's frame of mind how he/she takes things because world what you mind makes of it.
Thank you for your generous remarks. |

Death...an outmoded concept. We but sleep, and we change...
"So now I will try to put my life in rhyme,
To catch up with the coming happy time.
Where the music will be melodically jive,
And I will again feel so alive." |

Why? did you write this from experience, or a lack of it? |
