I Hear you Little One

Contributed by northernlights on Sunday, 2nd November 2014 @ 01:18:17 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

I hear you little one,

Calling to the shadows and screaming

To the night. You're not my little one but my maternal heart

Feels every cry.We pass through the night together, you in your

Loneliness and me in hell for the want of mother's arms answering

Your plight.

I hear you little one learning the desolation of no answer, no warmth,

No comfort just the endless darkness, leaving you to cough and splutter

Your endless cries unanswered.

So where is mother for you?, where is your protector in life's introduction?

She's in bed with the devil selling her soul

And you are her price!

I hear you little one, befriending the shadows, sweetly cooing to the dark

Till once again the coldness and sting of pain screams from your tiny flesh,

To silence.

This is so tragic and sad. Reminds me of....me. I was that little one. Nothing special there...so many of us were that 'little one'. If this has happened to you (hearing and hurting for a child) I feel for you, I feel for the kid. I hope you can do something for that little child.

Blessings,

Invierno

PS. Well constructed.

I hope this is not a current situation. The haunting way you wove your words made my heart burst. I can hear that neglected child crying to be heard, and feel the sting of the slap. This poem is unsettling, as it should be. You have done a great job speaking for the muted. Thanks for posting.

This is heartbreaking to read!!! :( I'm stunned, I'm sad. It makes me want to track the ***** down and slap her one and then have the child put in a better home until ***** gets her act together....if ever she can.

Very powerful Anna! Your poems always succeed in moving the reader!

Side note: Little One is what I used to call my daughter.

Its funny I have found scorp, invierno, and timotheus in your comments. Usually if they are commenting on a poem you know it is worth reading. As this was. a very heartwrenching and emotional, read. I can only imaging writing this. I am glad you were not afraid to hide these feelings. even with the ambiguity of writing online we struggle sometimes to write this openly. It must be the nurturing Cancerian inside me, but I really felt sooo sad for this child.

Empathy strikes again. It is not your child, you tell us as much, but feel you do. And you make the reader feel for the neglected child. Tragic tale, but no fantasy. Tremendously powerful, and truthfully sad. Great write.

Hi Anna,
Heartbreaking! A lament to all the children who
become victims to ''adult relationships.''
And there are many, too many - but tears are
not enough.
