Anger Within

Contributed by waynster on Friday, 24th October 2014 @ 03:57:30 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

I woke up today
only to find aggression building with a rumble
Feeling a sense of hate
my kindness takes a tumble

Having an altercation
by words from my mouth already today
No way to control my anger
I hate it when I feel this way

Walking out in public
looking stupidity right in the face
I ask myself what has become of society
with the actions of the human race

This anger which I hold
never does me any good
It doesn't allow me to stand
a step further than where I just stood

I’m not sure why it happens
thorns just sticking in my skin
Lashing out at anyone
with any words spoken from their mouth, I begin

I strike hard and fast
having no remorse for anything I say
My words are piercing like a sword
I really hate it when I get this way

I am not bitter, cold, or dark inside
but thorns shaped from words just tear open my skin
Making me scream from my soul
hearing the echo within
