The day to leave was bleak with sky all gray,
King Laurence knights in battered old hulks free
of anchors, lines, and cleats at mooring stay,
his boats now headed toward the English lee.
King chose to sail in coaster carrying three,
Sir James Shaw, Morley, Marcus, strongest knights,
but tempest came off cold Norwegian Sea,
and waves were forming mean of greatest heights,
the foursome thinking they must make their sacred rites
Bad waves and wild winds beat back coaster’s way
to England, boat responding nay to use
of rudder and sail for surviving day,
and coaster floundered, no course yea to choose.
Cast o’er all armour’s weight or lives to lose,
swords, shields, shafts, four saddles, bridles, and more.
It’s life, death neither might king, knights confuse,
their eyes now searching wide whatever shore.
In spite of fervent prayers, Aquilon’ s might did roar.

An easy read to fall into and follow, and experience!
"and waves were forming mean of greatest heights"..you are a storyteller, and portray the era, the costumes, the scenery, the language, emotions so deftly that it is spellbinding! A pure joy to read..and I hope for you to write as well, as selfishly I wish for more…
