Day Tomorrow

It's like a door
When I look in to your eyes,
All sealed up, what's behind them?
Curiosity makes me wonder,
Makes me grab at air
Hoping to pull somthing open
And be showered in realisation
Only to realise I already knew the truth
You made it obvious from day 1,
Red letter days I can't help counting,
These days seem so long
Like the whole of heaven shifts back
Two then forward one.
Again I'm left behind, confused
And in dispair.
Why do other people seem so contempt?
The smell of expectation stains
The clothes I wear and makes
Me believe things change,
In to days I can cross paths
Safely with no sticks and stones
Ambushing me, like highway men.
If you expect nothing, you get nothing,
So i'll expect tomorrow to never arrive
And be amazed if I make it there
