Should Have Slept

Contributed by Deidra_Carmichael on Thursday, 2nd October 2014 @ 07:50:44 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Unruly motivation imprisoned my mind
It was either say it or suffer
Yet the latter's fallacy deceived my conscience
This repeated evaluation rendered odiously void

Help was all I meant to give
Correction as a healing agent
For diseased words and vain expressions
Compatibility is the state constantly attained

I should have slept instead of wept
For a work in progress
Instead of scanning for the error
I should have slept
Since this state is not healthy
You should have slept
Instead of been coerced into my rant
Luckily things are restored and it's a new day
Yet I search for a place to drop my gavel
For our communion to be one of peace and harmony

I enjoyed this. It comes across as a conversation between yourself...Both recognizing what you did wrong and focused on the next right thing. Sometimes it can be easier to spot our flaws, and we forget to congratulate ourselves on our small, yet significant, victories.

Keep your chin up.
