Peering through the darkness
Is it me, you want?
Aroused from my slumber...
This better be good.
Let's talk. You seem anxious
My patience is thin
Were you robbed of your dreams?
Because I was, too...
The roles are now reversed
Don't fret over change
Merely a passenger
We all ride the train.
Mindfulness with matter...
What a crock of ****
No time like the present
*smirk* See what I did?
It has been a pleasure
Please do come again.
Your challenge accepted
Is there an encore?

This is different for you...without the rhyming, Oh O Scorpendous one.
You're crazy (they say) if you talk to yourself....or even your shadow (I say). That's what this struck me as. Someone talking to himself/herself or their shadow as is implied.
The italics apparently a response but the second stanza threw me some with the last line being in italics but seemed a continuation of the line just before it.
So, I admit I am confused but found it still a bit with the Scorp attitude.
Thanks,

There is always something in your poetry that beguiles me.
I'm sure I am not alone in this view.
Captivated..........yet again.

beguiling is the word of description, Scorpy. There are many moves between the opening gambit to final concession, but you are right - more chess than checkers. Every beginning is weak, every conclusion, definite.
