In my Head

Contributed by The_Phantom on Thursday, 11th September 2014 @ 03:37:20 AM in AEST
Topic: surreal

A simple thought, a single tear, memories of love lost as I look in the mirror,
Words escape, thoughts unclear, a broken heart I fear won't heal,
When you left, my world fell apart, I see the end, but when did it start,

Blinded by love, I would never have guess the outcome,
I gave you my heart, it was a gift you ripped apart,
Laughed in my face, now my chest is home to an empty space,

I close my eyes and pray it's a dream, only to realize, it's the real thing,
A nightmare if you will, losing you is like a jagged pill,
Unable to swallow, pride is gone, will I see tomorrow,

Thoughts of suicide as my world crumbles, try and stand but only stumble,
A soul shattered, this is what remains of a man beaten and battered,
The lights grow dim, I will soon face my end,

Voices in my head, "Stay with me my friend,"
"Call 911, I think he's done,"
Wake up in bed, it was all in my head.

Forever Faithful
The Phantom
