Fantasy Man

Topic: dedicatedpoems

I just want to tell a story
Does it have to be true
To be for you

If I could make Mona Lisa smile
Then maybe, just maybe you would stay for a little while
Isn't that what dreams do
I always wake before they're through

Maybe I have my head in the clouds
Or maybe I'm just too proud
Something was said about pride before the fall

But if today is my day
Then I'll fall, though I already have
Waiting on a lost call

So Mona Lisa, please smile for me
Cinderella, where could you be
I'm sorry, I'm a fairytale man
But what you don't understand
Is that happy endings always wait for those who believe

As pretty as the words may sound
I still have to turn them around
So they'll flow in a way that they can speak what I can't say

It is said that the sun still sets in paradise
But look what midnight did for Cinderella
Changing hopeful deceit into an innocent hypnotize
Something that some of us still need time to realize

I hope Cinderella smiles for you. Thank you for the lovely reminder that we all make our own truths, and one size doesn't fit all!
Wishing you lots of pride--and no falls!
