Raw Hide

Contributed by northernlights on Wednesday, 3rd September 2014 @ 04:47:21 PM in AEST
Topic: toughstuff

I nearly died doing my job of thirteen years, and still

Bureaucracy wants my hide! A caring profession whose

Only care is to tick boxes, dot i's and cross t's. Never putting

Their tender feet into the muddy mire of human behaviour.

We walk into four walls and face whatever and whoever is

There,every weather,every day,every person,every situation.

We work together or alone giving the hope of independence.

We laugh away abuse given to us as the frontline of people's

Frustration,we shoulder their burdens and bring light to loneliness

Confusion, fear and neglect and still bureaucracy wants my

Hide! I brought the strength of lions to the arena and won a battle

But not the war and still they want my hide, survived another

Year but now the hounds bay once more for my blood but this

Time all is calm, for amongst all of their battle cries,

I know who I am!

Bureaucracy makes it hard to do your job and even worse sometimes it makes you stop caring. All the red tape is just too much and makes work an idiot's guide stifling creativity and aptitude

The endless rules and regulations these days seem to overshadow the actual work itself
You do have to question the ethic.

Nice write. made a very good point very well!!

I came upon this and thought I had somehow missed it. Then as I read, I remembered it and I was wondering why I had not left a comment. So after I finished reading it this time, I realized all I want to do is applaud this and how do I put that into words. So that is why there was no comment. Had I sat and listened to this as you recited it, I would have simply stood and applauded.
