Crimson-red hue over the western sky
Silence looming over the dusk of life
Time to shed off all the fruits of future
To let the new day begin its call tonight.
Over the distant horizon
As far as the winds can reach
And over the never ending sky
As far as my eyes can see
The smell of fresh new beginnings
Gathering their way up around me.
Too little to take & so much to give
Their journey begins dispersing from me
Riding on the back of the winds
They'll make their homes
somewhere far away from me.
And here shall I stand
As steady against the rain or storm
To provide shelter to all who come
In search of pleasure or alms
Until its time for me to lay
When my roots are no longer too strong to stay.

Vivid and evocative imagery woven into this.
I like what you have done here, powerful and yet soothing at the same time.
I really liked the line
Silence looming over the dusk of life.
Wish I had written that line myself!!

Well, so colorful
and precious imagery
And free it does awaken
even the most tired
eye to ever see
I really like this Sanders!
Kind of brings a happy tear
like Autumn
excellent a quiet word
dormant all of them
off to sleep glistening
in the cold air for all
to take notice of
Peace! |

I am saddened to realize this is the last poem of yours for me to comment on...Please write some more, lol. No pressure!
You have a way with imagery and metaphor to convey both tone and feeling. Impressive lines yet again. Great job.
