OCD can be Killed

Years and years, of terror and pain,
Forever, it seemed, normalcy was my feign,
It reads all my thoughts, and has logged every fear,
It composes its own, and into my synapses, they slash and tear,
Of this devil of mine, misery and hate are hallmarks of its reign,
It twists my gut; gores and scars, my un-sane brain,
Now, I’ve been befriended, by an unlikely character,
Of his many talents, he counts, the obsessions, of Hannibal Lecter,
I was given an ages old weapon, and a new fantasy,
After a ruined life, OCD, is now, afraid of me,
I know where it lives, as does my .357,
Death, you see, is my final, and best weapon,
Victory will be for me, when the powder is lit,
And my fast searing bullet, smashes rightfully through it,
Across the room it will fly, in tiny little bits,
Accompanied by, a beautiful pink mist,
It brought this on itself, with its eternal and brutal hiss,
Never suspecting, I would someday, refuse to live like this,
My friend has allowed a subtle peace, letting me borrow from his lore,
Though, through recklessness, or the gun, I mean to settle, this old score.

Living with a brother with OCD, I see how it affects every aspect of a person's life. Indeed, if can be obliterated, as you have powerfully written here. Quite impressive I must say. Take care and God bless,

I want to say I can relate 100 percent but no I really cant.
I appreciate the depth of feeling and honesty in this verse and you are also an awesome poet. Please dont lose heart though, many hugs

When something is thrust upon you that like that, it becomes a parasite that feeds off you, trying to weaken your will and destroy you.
The fight is tough and often an eternal battle, but there is always hope that the triumph over it is not far away.
Thanks for highlighting your suffering and the suffering of everyone who shares in your plight.
