Why is enough never enough?
Always looking for bigger and better stuff.
The demands of society are so tough.
This world we live in has become so materialistic.
What happened to when we were simplistic?
We have become so socialistic.
We evaluate each other by our sophistication.
It's like moral castration.
Measuring everyone in the nation.
Let me see your house, cars and luxuries.
Those who don't measure up are our enemies.
They don't even qualify as frenemies.
So what is your title doctor lawyer judge?
Does your illustrious past have a smug?
Are there things swept under your rug?
Isn't it time we start looking at things like a child?
Whose needs and wants compared to ours is mild.
Appreciating nature as it was in the wild.
Looking at a bee sitting on a flower.
And not someone living in a tower.
Admiring the eagle's flight or the elephant's power.
A child's heart is filled with love and trust.
Ours is filled whit contempt and lust.
For things we want it's more like a must!
A child's heart is filled with compassion and faith.
Ours is filled with disregard and hate.
This I tell you is a bad trait.
It's a shame how materialism has contaminated our morals.
Do we fix it or sit on our laurels?
Debating this may cause many quarrels.
We do everything to impress.
While we leave life and nature in a mess.
Striving for this leads to grey hairs and stress.
We must start looking at things through a child's eyes.
Humble ourselves and stop living lies.
Before this beautiful world dies.
God warns us to take care.
Be friendly and share.
Never be judgmental and always be fare.
When we can once again do this.
Life will be beautiful a kind of bliss.
Something I think we all miss.

well Russell, you wrote a beauty this time for sure! I love the line 'moral castration'. How perfect. And the points y0u make are those which I spend a lot of time thinking about. How I wish How I wish How I wish I were born around 90 years ago. I would trade in imminent death if I had the chance to live those4 years ago. The world is going to hull in a hand-basket for sure and you pointed it out in fine fashion.
thanks
