Ive heard it said that we too are like flowers
Once vibrant and new
Faded in the sunlight hours
And time, like the glistening coals of a train
Whatever life gives
It can not sustain
And in the autumn showers
Are shadows of what remain
Of the dying of the flowers
Too great is sorrow of the starlings cry
Through the dew of a mornings purple sky
1,000 tomorrows for the sapling seed
Oh! What a cruel life we children lead
And how sweet the sap before it sours
But this is just another poem
About the dying of the flowers
