Win, lose or draw
I’ve been tested for the game
It’s not my place to win
But it’s my promise all the same
The first it came late one night
With the stones that fell from above
I held my ground and refused to bow down
And I was not ashamed of my love
The second it was a cur dogs hand
That was looking for a rush
It was too bold and out of control
And I curbed it with a hush
Last but not least it came one night
To test the truth that was bare
He lost control but I regained my soul
And I shook the hand with care
So when the bell rings and begins to sing
Of the greed they have in the air
Let it be known that I stand alone
With a promise I withstand and bear
