e.e. is ***** to me-
nonsense made sensible
verses comprehensible-
war shown torn proper as its due-
e.e. discovered knew
right from wrong tear into little
bits
the wars deaths splayed bodies
gnats and knits to
crawl
on this new fun field of death
by and for all.

Perhaps tis quite fortunate I have never come in contact with e.e's work. Expressive indeed,

e.e. comings, and goings abouts
all inter-spaced ideally impressed
Indelible-past inked tattoo
or rings to wear anywhere
Mentions beyond the unmentionable
Thought they do still think
Winter, summer, plurals
Wines dines measures
greed's textured sinks
And those who think they can
just wash off
this or this other thing
boredom silence resilience
The things that do with effort
stand up and someday will again
sing
Maya Angelo said evil is sadly never
fully discussed for fear of an evil seed or
somehow genetic interloper in ones soul,
And so sadly we might be destined to live evil
that we were exposed to, by we who
were evil ourselves... I'm paraphrasing her there.
E. E. way before his time. And yet, not really.
Invierno, nice poem man! Tolstoy wrote about the infinitesimals of war... the gnats and knits to crawl.
Your poem needs to be heard.
Peace! |
