Death whispered to me as fate and time gave
Me the seconds before grimly reaping the lives
Of others, carnage rested in fleshly form encased in metal
And firmly ditched, panic removed broken bodies changing
Decisions of culpability and I felt no luck nor relief, just strange!
Reprisal sealed my lips in my knowledge of a bigger picture painted
By the voice of experience
and foresight and I were left to swim in
A pool of guilt.
My decision was for me and mine and yet in its very nurturing protection
I crossed the road from you and yours.
A few seconds and fate smiled
You were the intended hand of the reaper and you cheated him.
It was not my time
A few seconds.

I know you have said I "get" your poems but admittedly, I didn't quite understand this one and maybe the reader is not supposed to. Sort of sounds as though you're talking to yourself. I do know this....and that is this scared the ***** out of me: You were the intended hand of the reaper and you cheated him.
It was not my time
A few seconds.
So it's not my time to die...a few seconds later, I'm dead!!!!
Yeah, definitely bone chilling ! ! !
