I sail this silver boat down the river
Not across
The further I sail
The greater the river
I lost you through failure
To contain the bitterness
My act of rememberance
My requiem
Turn your face away from the dark
Or the conversion will begin
The blackness absorbs the light
When the light is in the blackness
The divide between the two
Is invisible to the naked human soul
And all too real
To all at its mercy
And thus the red river flows
A grim acceptance
Of the self infliction
The punishment due
