My hand in yours as you lead
Each step back induces my trust
In your eyes I'm able to relax, carry on
The basic moves I now take joy in
Moving to the middle of the room
Thrilling it becomes as we pick up the tempo
Suddenly our grip breaks
Thank goodness it's only apart of the number
With relief and intent I cut across back into your embrace
The normal routine puts it all into perspective
Now for the ochos
In and through I leave you stunned
That box-step and turn said it all
How that grapevine put me under your spell
And yet again it is broken
I glance at her for a moment
She's staring at me with a devouring look
Still your gaze remains on me
You push my right arm slightly
To bring me back to you
I'm off beat, struggling to stay in time
You assure me everything is fine
My head is spinning and my legs give out
Fallen back you hold me in a dip
I open my eyes fearful of what I may behold
You fasten me in your clutch
Meeting my eyes with sincere care
You bring me to my feet and we see she is gone
Your eyes played a trick on you, you tell me
Now that I am up I am convinced
We then continue on with our tango
In perfect harmony and love
