animals in their element
love to hunt and kill,
nothing like a victim
to give them all a thrill
swarming on the innocent
picking on the weak,
animals in their element
trawl familiar beats
crazy gang behaviour
knives instead of claws,
guns reclaiming honour
gives everybody pause
they act as if they’re human,
walk upright and wear clothes
but they are feral in their element,
and now everybody knows.

very well structured...it has that 'iambic pentameter' or some such name (from ten million years ago in high school and college.
the content is worthy..overall, a very nice piece.

Exactly. Bullets have no eyes. These animals you speak of give them guidance.
Very nicely done.
Thanks,

Direct and hard hitting.
You make a point worth making and you make it well.
Really enjoyed reading, yet again.

If a poem can take me along it a good one. This did. I'm a city dweller. |
