I think I might be going crazy
But I can tell you I think that I'm not.
I see the world go by ever faster
And I want to keep the mind that I’ve got.
I want to fly high, In the morning
And by noon I know where I’m not.
I can’t tell you if I've ever been there
And if I have, I probably forgot.
I see me as I go in the evening
And I come back to haunt my night.
It's not that I need to see me
I just want to make sure
I’m all right.
It’s not very hard to stop thinking.
When your friends take
More than you have.
They say it’s my choice
To love them
But it’s my fault
That they take what I had
I will wait for all my tomorrows
Even if it was yesterday.
And if yesterday never gets here
Then today will be ok..

I need to re-read this. I like it. Especially the stanza,
"It’s not very hard to stop thinking.
When your friends take
More than you have.
They say it’s my choice
To love them
But it’s my fault
That they take what I had"
You did a heck of nice job on this piece.

Your closing line sums your message to this reader: "And if yesterday never gets here, then today will be ok…"
If your words were a prayer said at the close of each day, perhaps we could abandon our yesterdays at last.
Thank you for sharing your mantra of acceptance. I am definitely going to apply it.
