You never gave me anything, except your horrid face.
Was I just not important to you?
Because I know getting drunk is more fun than having kids.
But that was all you ever seemed to do.
Did I ever make you proud, or was I never good enough?
I feel all I did was let you down.
I tried so hard my whole life to make you love me back,
but all you did was kick me all around.
Every day was torture. I just wanted it to end.
You made me feel like I was all alone.
I had to raise myself, and I did a better job than you.
But now can't you see how much I've grown?
I never stood a chance with a "mother" like you.
How could you be so hard on me?
I did everything I could just to make you smile
so that maybe for once, we could be happy.
When I would need you most, you weren't ever there
Your social life meant more to you than I.
I just wanted to hear once that my mom really cared
But I know it would only be a lie.
I know you love drinking, I know you love men.
I know you love getting high, and getting laid.
But do you have any love left for me?
Or did it already all fade?
I've tried my whole life to be good enough.
I just wanted to hear once "I'm proud."
But I've never once heard you say anything good
about me or my life out loud.
But I'm at the point now where I no longer care.
You're completely worthless to me.
And now you want me, because I'm not there.
But for once, I finally feel free.
I no longer miss you, but sometimes I still cry.
It's been three years since I've seen you.
But eventually, everything has to die.
Goodbye, Mom. I don't need you.

I always feel like this, mother never told me she was proud of anything I did either.
This, this is something I can relate to. |

As I read your words, the tears began to fall. I can so relate to this because I am raising my grandson whose "mother" or egg donor as he refers to her, abandoned him. I see the struggles in him that you speak to in your words. It's so hard, so unfair, so cold hearted that there is no understanding. But I will tell you as I tell him, you are worth so so so much more than "it" didn't see fit to give. You are a wonder, a joy, and there is so much awaiting your discovery. Your write is so heart wrenching yet awe inspiring. God Bless you and the children in your shoes. There are those who love you. P |
