The One Lasting Thing!
As I walked through Life's Garden praising God today
It was a bit cold and the rain fell as I sang about the past
While singing to the Lord I was assured all would be okay
For He shows me there is only one thing that will last
Yes, this rain will stop like the hurts of the past
Old and new memories are in my heart to stay
Along with the Lord there is one thing that will last
So as I meander on along I find much to say
Along with the Lord the plants and animals are near
Tears mix with rain as the One inside me He does hear
Letting go of the sadness, the pain I sing this catharsis song
Love remains as I realize God has been listening all along
So as I walk in this Life's Garden with a song to sing
It is confirmed within me the one lasting thing
The one thing that will never be conquered or die
It is what God has shown me and He does not lie
No matter what His children go through He is there
He wants us to sing to Him and find He does care
We need to pray also and let go of the past
Yet that one thing never dies it will always last
That is why we can be redeemed and what sees us through
For above all it reigns throughout eternity for me and you
By now you may have realized what this can only be
For Jesus came as an example to show you and me
His Father, the Spirit and He show who God really is
For They be God the Trinity who work in conjunction
So ask the Lord Jesus in and become one of His
Unload all your burdens and for Him live and function
Well it is good to sing praises and hymns unto our God
Even when in the rain as through the Garden of Life you plod
There is only one thing that lasts and we see it in the Lord
For we who are His are His Family and we are to LOVE in one accord!
