selfstruggles

Today misery finds it has company
Time to get up and start the day
Depression is the enemy
It leaves no room for happiness; only pain
There is a void in my life that needs to be filled
I go to work and push the agony to the back of my mind
My heart hurts so bad I feel as though my soul is slowly being killed
Now it's time to relax but the anxiety makes it hard to unwind
It hits me with a sudden desperation
I dream with such intensity that peaceful sleep eludes me
Fear consumes me with the sudden realization
How could I not see that all along I was the key?
The morning dawns again cold and dreary
Again misery finds it has company in me
This time a stream of sunlight shines through like a small ray of hope
And the wind whispers to my heart what my soul already knows.

"And the wind whispers to my heart what my soul already knows."
A beautiful line.
