falling from the skies

Contributed by ladyfawn on Friday, 18th July 2014 @ 07:46:49 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

everyone boarded the plane
target trophy military campaign

some hoping for a little sleep
and now so many families weep

eighty innocent pretty children
two hundred eighteen women and men

on an eight hour standard flight
these souls now rise towards light

countries deep in lies
falling from the skies

Such a loss…and such a gentle loving tribute to strangers. You teach us to mourn because humanity has been desecrated. What have we lost? We will never know.
This is a tear without bitterness..and endless sigh.
Thank you for saying our farewells for us so eloquently. I find the words of my heart in your words of good-by. I am grateful you could say them for me.

As a comment shared, a fitting and beautiful tribute. The ***** of it all is that either, A. The plane was shot down to eliminate one or a small party of people (the murder masked in the numbers of dead), or B. (and the more likely, imho) it was shot down as provocation to an escalation of hostilities.

there is no accounting for man's brutality.

tragic... did not need to happen;
it did
On mine and many others mind. I was thinking
of the meaning of the concept of time today
A collection of things that happen in a certain order, or is it a dimension, or does it even exist
Time that is, outside our own reality.

They and their families are in our prayers
for sure.

Peace!

Some of the most classic poems I've ever read come from seeing and/or hearing about tragic times in the world. This is without question, one of those poems. Excellent poem my friend

Hugs & love,
Donavan

A fine tribute to those who are lost to the lunacy. Such horrific events only succeed in bringing home the madness to the individual.
'some hoping for a little sleep' is so utterly powerful within your poem.
The majority of world leaders are no more than Ghengis Khans, and, unlike him, they are riddled with hypocrisy.

It is unfortunate that things like this happen.

Your poem is very moving and shows how some people value life more than others.

So sad. No words can fully describe its awfulness.

It is hard to accept any death, of any life, at any time ~ Yet, we have always lived within this valley of the shadow of her death ~ All of creation groaning together crying in unison a sea of souls: How long ? Today we live amid a place willing to sacrifice millions of lives for the profit of their few....Babylon, you'll never change your, wicked ways ~ A beautiful glimpse at a loving daughter's heart....
