Picture Puzzle

Contributed by dvtpdw on Wednesday, 16th July 2014 @ 04:55:05 PM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Life is a picture puzzle we each create
A different rendering for a separate fate
What colors chosen from a single palette
Depends on the depth of the artist's talent

Each picture starts as a puzzle born undone
All the pieces to be assembled one by one
Some cleverly painted so it's clear to match
Others not easily fitting the puzzle's patch

Some fear the pieces are missing a few
Become frustrated, not knowing what to do
Only when they pause to take a closer look
They find the picture puzzle is an open book

Some force pieces into where they don't
Never thinking to question why they won't
Throwing unmatched pieces in a fit of rage
One more day scribbled off their life's page

There are those who plug each piece in
Seeming to know where before they begin
A calming sense with each piece they place
Accepting their picture with a simple grace

It's luck of the draw as to the puzzle you start
What picture completed is based on one's heart
Make the pieces form the picture you desire
A completed puzzle framed by a life on fire

I think I might be that person in the forth stanza.

Always like seeing your poetry on here. Thank you for that.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
