Wondering is stupid

Contributed by JackM on Monday, 14th July 2014 @ 11:33:54 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

What would it be like, if someone made a big deal about my birthday, even though she knew it would annoy me?

What would it be like, if she wanted to be with me on Christmas Eve, and kiss me at midnight on the 1st ?

What would it be like, if someone wanted to grab me up, and squeeze real tight, just because she felt like it?

What would it be like, if someone butted into my personal business, and invaded my private space, just because she thought she could?

What would it be like, if someone laughed at my stupid jokes, because she thought they were stupid?

What if someone cared enough about the dumb things I do, to get mad at me for doing them?

What if someone gave me crap, for not wearing a helmet on the Harley, and for riding too fast?

What would it be like, if someone thought I was an idiot, for trying to get a job as a bouncer in a raunchy strip club?

What would it be like, if someone would never, ever hit me, because she knew all she would hurt, would
be my feelings?

What if someone told me she’d rather I didn’t carry a knife, or gun, everywhere I go?

What would it be like, if someone knew I was upset, just by looking at me?

What would it be like, if someone figured out the differences between the real me, and my pretenses?

What would it be like, if I didn’t want her to read some of my poetry, because she might actually cry?

What would it be like, if someone liked it, when I looked at her with intent-filled eyes?

What would it be like, if someone got jealous, just because she caught me checking out another woman?

What if someone didn’t like my affinity for tequila shots, but had fun teasing me when I’m hammered?

What would it be like, if I quit smoking, just because she told me too?

What would it be like, if someone thought I was special, for reasons I never heard before?

Just wondering.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
