Lambs to the slaughter

Contributed by northernlights on Friday, 11th July 2014 @ 03:23:42 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

How brave the perpetrators who hide behind a cause and use the
Sacred lives of children in their games of war.

How putrid the sweat that pours from their brow into the tears
Of parents robbed of their sanity,

How brave the hands that squeeze life from innocence in the
Call of vengeance and have the gall to call this just!

For every drop of blood shed by these hands the earth cries
Out with their voice, Why? Why do you think you, have the god
Given right to steal the life from those who are not yet grown.

And yet do you cease with the face of one dead child?

Bind us with all the blindness of your reasons and still there is
Is none, there is no rock under which you can hide for you are the
Filth of this existence and your hands are soaked in their blood
And nothing will ever make you clean.

they will face the consequences of their actions, or like they say: what goes around comes around.

This literally brought tears to my eyes. I can feel the pain because I relate well (or better to say not so well) to anything / anyone victimizing children. I'll try to remain off the soap box, even though it's within arms reach and I so want to get on it.

The poem, yes this poem...you made the horror real for me and that's about all I can really say.

Your excellence shines.

Tim

Well done. We all need to write more on the atrocity we call war.

Pure evil abounds around every corner depending where you are.
I'm sure had I written this I would not have put it so nicely.
I fought pure evil standing in the gap for my children and grans children. to keep the evil from affecting them. I know Mom can't always be there or could not ,while they were growing up.
Of course evil they see and will always be there but they know evil when they see it.
Very good write, friend.
Big blessings, huggs,
emy

heartbreaking what goes on in this world, you expressed this so
beautifully, if we are not angered by war- we will lose our humanity,

hugs n' love nessa

Hi Anna,

Angry, passionate, and a voice in the wilderness
crying out for justice and rectitude on behalf of
all the unfortunates throughout this blood-stained
globe.

If only words were enough ...

Strongly penned, Anna
