The flamboyance of the envied objective
A goal restricted by invisible,
Insurpassable barriers
Lest the King Brown shed its dull skin
And grow back the masterpeice
Of a Boomslang
On several heavy acid trips.
The raven will emerge
From the cocoon of a dark adolescence
As a scarlet macaw
The black feathers forgiven
Their wisdom installed on a cellular level
From back in the cocoon
It will swoop over the loftiest tree in the forest
At last, unchained
Unbound, at last
And the prey will sing
In naive rememberence
Of the raven they once preyed upon
Then discover that their past
As the biggest fish in the pond
Speaks for precious little
In the ocean
And the carnivorous Scarlet will descend to feed

I'm not sure what you mean by this. I'm not sure your title fits. |

Love this, and especially the title...
Scarlet Macaw... looked it up, it has a brilliant color pattern, the mystique of the endangered bird... loss of habitat combined with other issues. All that goes on in nature, all the rain forests being destroyed --- we are so removed, too few understand this vanishing...
Brilliant poem!!! You deserve a Special Thank You, for this one - one of the best I've read in a long time my friend!
Peace! |
