Thanatophobia

Contributed by codeofcohen on Monday, 7th July 2014 @ 07:59:39 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

When I'm alone
The fear returns
And I'm slowly dying
In the time it burns

Fear and peace
They take it in turns
To tempt me into dying young
And by my own terms

One hand on the wheel
As I swallow the pill
To plummet off the edge
As the blade makes my blood spill

Perhaps a rope and wooden chair?
Just a kick away from the end of despair

Perhaps a gun to my wasted head?
Just a flinch away from the end of the dread

Inescapable torment
Anxiety rampant

Try to take my death from me.
I dare you.

Would you try tell me which door
Is the morally correct door
Through which to exit my own house?

well, from the title i'm thinking you don't want to just yet,
beautiful expression of feelings, a bit defensive at the end,
like someone might attack you for your feelings and beliefs,
i will just offer you the hand of friendship, if you want it,

hugs n' love nessa

Interesting poem, I think about death a lot as though if I fear it I'm not sure. I've been telling myself things come to those who wait, and in waiting I've seen things I would've missed in an early grave. You can't see the ending to see if it's a good one or a bad one through dead eyes. I hope you will find something to subside your fear to find a peaceful way of living
I enjoyed the read good poem
hope to read more soon
